Sportsfield Receives Top Honors at 2022 ASBA Technical Meeting

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. received top honors at the American Sports Builders Association’s (ASBA) 2022 Technical Meeting Award Ceremony in Palm Desert, CA in early December. Accolades, including a Game Changer Award in the Fields Division for their new product innovation; the Synthetic Turf Infill Containment System, and recognition for their role as an equipment supplier on several award-winning sports construction projects.

“The Technical Meeting brings top leaders in sports construction together annually to network, learn, and provide feedback,” said David Moxley, Director of Sports Construction Sales at Sportsfield, “it’s a true honor to receive such a positive response from this respected community.”

ASBA’s Game Changer Awards recognize a product, service, or technique designed to help move the sports construction industry forward – member attendees vote for the winning product based on how well it demonstrates industry innovation and excellence.

Sportsfield’s Pedestrian and Equipment Synthetic Turf Infill Containment Systems are designed to capture the infill and other potential contaminants as people and equipment exit the playing surface. The equipment version uses heavy-duty galvanized steel grates that allows maintenance equipment and emergency vehicles to be parked on them while the infill is removed using air or water. The infill is contained within the bottom of the trays and can easily be removed using a vacuum. The trays are modular and can be installed in a variety of configurations to meet the needs of a specific project.

In addition to the Game Changer Awards, Sportsfield was recognized at the ASBA Awards Ceremony for their role as a track and field equipment supplier in numerous award-winning construction projects. Highest honors include Outstanding Track and Field Facility of the Year – Franklin High School and Outstanding Single Field Facility of the Year – MLS Stadium FC Cincinnati TQL Stadium.

“Sportsfield designs equipment that solves industry problems, enhances safety, and makes installation and end-user operation more efficient,” Moxley said. “The honors received at this year’s ASBA Technical Meeting are a testament that we are hitting the mark regarding client needs and that makes us proud.”
