Sportsfield Recognized for Game Changing Field Equipment

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. of Delhi, NY was awarded several accolades at the American Sports Builders Association’s (ASBA) annual Technical Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ in early December. Honors included two Game Changer Awards for SSI’s innovations in track and field equipment and recognition for their role in numerous award-winning sports construction projects.

The Game Changer Awards, which are determined by ASBA member consensus, recognizes newly developed products that move the sports construction industry forward. In the Fields Division, SSI received the award for their new WeatherScape® Team Shelters, and in the Track Division, an award for their new Pole Vault Standard Forming Systems. Both products are patent pending.

According to Moxley, SSI’s WeatherScape® Team Shelters are uniquely designed with a gas shock lowering system, which allows the rear curved structure to be lowered and locked into place to withstand high winds when not in use. The revolutionary design doubles the maximum wind speed the shelter can handle before a damaging blow-over can occur.

SSI was also recognized at the ASBA event for their Pole Vault Standard Forming Systems. Their pole vault standard innovation is the only one, in the track and field construction market, that allows a standard to be semi-permanently anchored into its correct position for all levels of competition. Utilizing the forming system, track design professionals can now incorporate the in-ground system during the construction phase, which ensures accurate placement by the end-user every time used.

Additionally, SSI was recognized for its role as a supplier in numerous award-winning sports construction projects including three that earned Gold Awards for Outstanding Single-Field Facility, Multi-Field Facility, and Track & Field Facility. Earlier this year, Sportsfield Specialties received ASBA’s prestigious Supplier of Distinction re-certification for their ongoing commitment to the tennis, track, and field industries.
