Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. has acquired the assets of First Down Football Products (FDFP), a California-based company renowned for their uniquely hinged Football Goal Post. Part of the deal includes the rights to US Patent No. 8,496,547 for the collapsible design.

As of January 1, 2019, Promats Athletics of Salisbury and Delhi, NY-based parent company, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. merged forces, consolidating divisions under the SSI entity. According to Sean Clark, SSI President, Promats Athletics has been the leader in athletic wall pads for over 30 years and SSI has been the industry-leader in manufacturing steel and aluminum athletic field equipment since 1998.

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. of Delhi, NY was awarded several accolades at the American Sports Builders Association’s (ASBA) annual Technical Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ in early December. Honors included two Game Changer Awards for SSI’s innovations in track and field equipment and recognition for their role in numerous award-winning sports construction projects.

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc.’s (SSI) Ultra Cross® Black and Field Green Baseball Netting have attracted dozens of Major League Baseball (MLB) and Minor League (MiLB) clubs, who have installed the low-profile Dyneema® fiber knotless netting at their home stadiums and/or practice facilities in the 2018 season. This move was part of MLB’s ongoing push to expand fan safety.

In 2008, Sportsfield Specialties’ (SSI) AdjustRight® Football Goal Posts made their Super Bowl debut at University of Phoenix Stadium – This would be the beginning of a run of Super Bowl wins for the Delhi, NY sports equipment manufacturer.

In 2017, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) introduced its first line of permanent filming towers, which two NCAA Division I colleges quickly took notice of. The University of Delaware purchased a 15’H SSI filming tower to support video coverage of games and practices at Fred P. Rullo Stadium, home of the 2016 NCAA Division I field hockey champions. Boston College ordered two sets of 20’H and 10’H filming towers to be installed at both their soccer and field hockey complexes.
