In January, NFL’s San Diego Chargers announced the decision to move to Los Angeles, but there was one hitch, they didn’t have a stadium to call home. To accommodate the displaced football team, L.A.’s Galaxy Major League Soccer club invited the Chargers to utilize their state-the-art StubHub center temporarily until the completion of their new Inglewood stadium. This marks the first time in history an NFL stadium has played at a soccer specific venue.

Following a 2016 expansion of their Delhi, NY manufacturing facility, Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) made the strategic decision to also expand their sales capabilities in North America. According to David Moxley, Director of Sports Construction Sales, SSI will now market their products to clients in all territories of Canada.

For the third time in the past four NFL seasons, football goal posts manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) in Delhi, NY will make an appearance framing the playing field at the Super Bowl. This year’s game will be hosted at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX on Feb. 5.

On Saturday, December 3, 2016 Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. (SSI) hosted their annual Customer Appreciation Party for American Sports Builder Association (ASBA) members. The event took place at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in conjunction with the ASBA Technical Meeting & Trade Show.

Now with their busy season winding down, Sportsfield Specialties is ready to focus its energy on celebrating the recent expansion of its manufacturing facility in Delhi, NY. Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. welcomes the community to their Open House, scheduled for Saturday, October 22 from 11 am to 2 pm. This event is free and open to the public and will include tours, demonstrations, family activities, and complimentary refreshments.

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. was awarded the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s highest honor, Business of the Year at a reception on May 6 at the State University of New York in Delhi, NY. At the event, the Chamber recognized SSI’s long-lasting commitment to the county through the creation of viable employment opportunities and support to community programs.

Now, after a two-phase construction project that was completed in 18 months at a cost of roughly $7 million, SSI has answered those needs with an expanded 119,000 square-foot production facility that’s equipped to deliver maximum efficiency in every phase of the highly specialized manufacturing that takes place within its walls.
