Sportsfield Specialties is seeking a hands-on Painter, for our Delhi, NY location, who can work independently and/or with others as a production team member with good analytical skills. Candidate must be reliable and flexible with schedule during summer months.
Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with the required procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain and operate powder coat equipment and spray booth as needed.
- Sand, polish, wash, dry, and apply powder coat to products specifications.
- Operate ovens and measure/monitor temperatures per product specifications.
- Maintain proper respirator care/operation.
- Weigh paint for accurate costing.
- Become efficient with painting techniques to meet quality and efficiency needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Skills:
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment, manage your time and be self-motivated.
- Ability to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to use and operate power tools, ladders, and warehouse equipment safely.
Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with powder paint preferred but not required.
- Experience with electric, hydraulics; pneumatics and controls.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Repetitive hand use to sand, polish, spray, bend.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and carrying anywhere up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to reach above the shoulder and/or outward as required.
- Occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to work in high temperature area.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for paint process. (Tyvek clothing, gloves, and respirator).
- Required to participate in medical exams that are required, such as NYS DOT physical and or NYS DOT drug screen, 3rd party hearing test, and/or medical exam for required PPD (respirator medical form).
