Home < Keystone Purchasing Network
The Keystone Purchasing Network (KPN) is a cooperative purchasing program that enables public agencies and nonprofit organizations to purchase equipment and services through competitively awarded contracts. Instead of issuing their own bid, organizations can “piggyback” on an existing contract, saving time and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
Using KPN for sports equipment purchasing provides measurable advantages:
Save Time: Reduce procurement timelines by weeks or months
Ensure Compliance: Contracts are publicly solicited and awarded
Simplify Purchasing: No need to create, advertise, or evaluate bids
Lock in Pricing: Pre-negotiated contract pricing helps control budgets
Reduce Administrative Work: Eliminate repetitive bid processes
Step 1: Register with KPN
Organizations can register for KPN at no cost. Membership is open to schools, municipalities, and qualified nonprofits.
Step 2: Use an Awarded Contract
KPN awards contracts through a competitive solicitation process. These contracts are publicly bid and ready for use.
Step 3: Purchase Directly from the Vendor
Once registered, you can purchase directly from an awarded vendor like Sportsfield using contract pricing.
Step 4: Stay Compliant
Because the contract has already been competitively bid, your purchase meets procurement requirements without issuing your own RFP.
